Welcome to Elm Cottage, Searsport's only natural foods and eco-friendly bed and breakfast. Elm Cottage is located within sight of Penobscot Bay in the historic district of Searsport. Retreat into the warmth and charm of this beautiful 1840 home, only steps away from the town park and beach, Penobscot Marine Museum, antique stores, art galleries, restaurants, Left Bank Books, and more.

Vegetarian cuisine is offered exclusively at Elm Cottage, a non-smoking home, as are Reiki healing sessions (by appointment). There are two comfortable, newly decorated bedrooms with queen-size beds and each room has its own private bathroom.

Enjoy a delicious home cooked breakfast that includes:

• orange juice
• tea or coffee (organic options available)
• fresh fruit
• homemade granola or hot mixed grain cereal
• milk (or organic soy milk) and yogurt (or soy yogurt)
• homemade muffins, scones or breakfast bread
• vegan 'butter,' apricot 'butter,' homemade jams
• and a cooked dish that varies each morning (tofu scramble, baked fruit french toast, pancakes, filled crepes, baked tomatoes stuffed with mushrooms, 'eggs' benedict, frittata, quiche, etc.).
• We cater to each person's preference for vegan, lacto-ovo, or any other dietary requirements.

After breakfast you can head out for a day of sightseeing, antiquing, boating, hiking, birding, golf, shopping; the possibilities are endless! We can help you plan your day, and if you like to hike we can provide some trail maps. Come home and relax on the deck with afternoon tea and listen to the soothing sound of water flowing into the pond. If it is not deck weather, relax with your tea and a book in one of two parlors and if it's unseasonably chilly, we'll light the fire. There is free wireless Internet access should you feel the need to connect your laptop with the outside world.

Searsport is a small coastal town situated on Route 1, six miles east of Belfast. It is centrally located on the mid-coast of Maine and many popular destinations are within an hour's drive. A warm welcome awaits you, so settle in, stay awhile, and use this lovely old home as a base for your vacation activities.
